Employee recognition is sometimes used as a tool in providing employee incentives. Indeed, employee recognition is one way of assessing the strengths and weaknesses of your employees for better planning to help them improve the services that your company offers. Likewise, employee recognition is also used in raising or improving employee incentives, salaries and bonuses.

Reasons for employee recognition

Employee recognition is primarily done to boost the morale of your employees and give them the reason to strive harder and be the best that they can be. Employee recognitions may come in different forms. You can do this by giving them the chance to prove themselves worthy of the job that you assigned to them, as well as using it to provide employee incentives, making employee recognition a vital tool for the success of a company.

Types of employee recognition

There are three types of employee recognition. They are the planned employee recognition, immediate employee recognition, and formal employee recognition.

1. Planned employee recognition

A planned employee recognition is the most common usually given to excellent customer service, outstanding achievement, productivity and safety. Recognitions like employee of the month falls under this category.

2. Immediate employee recognition

Immediate employee recognition is usually bestowed any time for an employee who exhibited and principles and ideals of a company, as well as in accomplishing extraordinary performance in targeting the company’s goal.

3. Formal employee recognition

This type of recognition is usually given every year to employees who have rendered impeccable performance throughout the year. This is considered the most coveted price of a company that every employee just wants to have them.
